Fish and Lips
I met AG on RedHotPie and we exchanged emails and talked for a while via webcams. We had a lot in common and decided to go to the Sydney Aquarium to meet, as we were both aquarium enthusiasts and kept tanks at home. He was very funny and completely understanding about my love of fish. A perfect gentleman, he offered to pay for my lunch at the Aquabar and grill, and was incredibly charming. He was also very knowledgeable about the species on display, so we found many things to talk about. Even though read more..

My New Latin Lover
When I signed up for a dating site I really worried I had hit rock bottom. I mean, what 23yr old needs to use a dating site when they live in a big city full of other desirable people? But a friend suggested I try so I signed up and waited.
After a couple days when I had the time to check in I had an inbox full of messages from single guys. Some seemed charming, some desperate, some just looking for someone to hang out with. I went through the messages, weeding out potential mis-matches (like the read more..

Success at last
After my first bad experience with a date from match.com I was a bit skeptical as to how great the second guy I decided to meet with actually was. We talked on the phone, emailed each other and chatted online and he seemed great but like I said, I was still skeptical.
We decided to go for dinner and drinks at the Bocca restaurant in the French Quarter. I walked into the restaurant and asked the hostess if my date had arrived yet. She said he had arrived a couple of minutes before I did and she read more..

Geeks Are Us
I met my date through joint association on a website. We were on the same site for a year or so before we started talking through MSN. We continued to chat for almost three years before finally we decided to meet up for a date.
The first time around was ok. We went to a nice little restaurant out of the way and sat and chatted most of the way. I couldn't even remember if I tried what we ate, because we were too busy talking. It was nice, and so we arranged a second date. This time it would be a read more..

Coffee, IN YOUR FACE!
I had been emailing and chatting with a guy that match.com had matched me up with. He seemed great and I couldn't wait to meet him. We had decided to go to Starbucks because it was better to get to know each other over a cup of coffee then it is to sit in a dark movie theater. When I got there, he was already waiting for me so I went to sit with him. We went to the counter together to order our coffee. Everything was going good and we talked for quite some time.
Some guys came up to us and they read more..

Bad Timing, Good Date
I couldn't have picked a worse time to get a match up with someone for a date. I was leaving town, moving to another city a few hundred miles away and would not be back for months at a time, and then only for short visits. I just hadn't got round to changing my account details, to reflect my soon to be new home.
So when the guy got in touch I decided to give it a go, figuring it wouldn't work out anyway. We went out clubbing, and it turned out we had friends in common. We drank way too much, and read more..

Nice Guy, Not My Type
My first date with this company was actually pretty decent. I heard from the guy a couple of times before the date, we emailed back and forth trying to decide what to do. We settled on something simple and nice and local; Joe's Crab Shack. We'd both been there in the past and both loved the food so we figured it was a good start.
The guy was early, and I was not. But he was really nice about it, and really forgiving. But that was part of the problem; he was too forgiving. The whole night he was read more..

Still a boy, not yet a man.
The plan for our date was to meet casually for a movie at the local shopping centre, and then head on for a movie. After some discussion I finally convinced him that Alien versus Predator requiem was not a classy movie for a date, and we settled on the golden compass instead.
The movie was enjoyable, but Nick seemed to be under the impression that he was still a teenager instead of a grown man, and seemed to think that wandering hands are acceptable in a cinema, when there are also children there read more..

not too bad for a first date
I hooked up with Kai around late November... you know how it is, going in to the holidays and all without a date. We chatted by email for a couple weeks before I agreed to meet him at a local Thai restaurant (at his suggestion - and man, what an awesome dig! I'm going there again soon!). While he didn't look a whole lot like the photos he sent me (I swear he was either much younger or it was a brother or something!), it was nice meeting him. He was gentlemanly, but seemed very nervous, like I read more..

Food Was the Best Part
We did not communicate much at all before the first date. This was a shame, because we might have learned at that point that we really had little to nothing in common.
We were going to an Italian/Greek restaurant called Zesty's, in Philedelphia, but unfortunately my date was vegetarian. Greeks and Italians tend to like their meat so there was really little choice for a vegetarian and that set a bad tone to the rest of the date.
I found the food, music and the whole place really was excellent. read more..
