So the biggest romantic holiday of the year is coming up and all the hearts and romantic swag is getting to me enough to join a dating site and try to find a guy. I figured it couldn't be too hard, right? So I meet this guy Jared. He's nothing amazing, but he seems the least likely candidate to become the next serial killer so we decide to go out for lunch. I know not to expect it to be perfect but kept an open mind as I walked into the diner we picked to eat at. And then I saw him...wearing a trucker hat and a t-shirt wit an advertisement for fishing lures across the front. Now I know we live in the middle of nowhere, but most guys at least make sure to wear a nice shirt and shave before meeting someone out in town, or at least I assumed they did. Nonetheless I sat down and we ordered sandwiches. He was pleasant enough to talk to. We discussed the weather (since it was set to snow later that evening), our families (our moms are actually part of the same church group), and our jobs (he works at Walmart....ugh). Nothing I wasn't expecting, but still a little saddening at the same time. He doesn't have many ambitions past winning the Bass fishing contest one year and having a son he can name Jared Jr. I was more than happy to pay for lunch and leave, stating I had shopping to do before the storm came in. maybe I'll have better luck next time.
